A. It literally has nothing to do with how "fast" a connection is, well it of course helps that you have a connection capable of providing enough bandwidth to communicate with the server. The problem you have is a little known thing called "contention" For instance a 1GB/s connection is going to be useless if you have a 1000:1 contention ratio, this would mean 1000 people at any one time are all using the same allocated bandwidth. Typically an ADSL connection will have a 20:1 ratio, statistically you are more likely to suffer "lag" during peak times due to the majority of this ratio using the bandwidth available. If you have the money you can look at SDSL, granted these come in "slower" connections, but when those connections are… [cont.]

Jus got Novalogic Joint Operations Typhoon Rising?
Q. I have a cheap Gateway PC from Bes Buy. and i just downloaded the game from Novalogic. but it says my video card isn't good enough or whatever. what can i do? like where can i get a card and what kind? thanks My computer is a MX6025, a little over a year old. 500 at best buy. i looked up the model on the gateway site and it doesn't even come up. anyway i have red mercury shadow ops, and also combat task force 121, and i had delta force land warrior and they all worked fine but this one says my video card doesn't support HW T&L. so how can i change that. and it also says my windows virtual memory swap file is less then the recommended, how can can i change that. sorry for such a long question.

A. I don't recall that Best Buy sell cheap computers. What operation system are you using? This is the most common area that I am concerns since Best Buy selling computers with Windows Vista. Windows Vista doesn't like older games not to mention will give a fuss about the drivers.

Delta Force 2 Demo-Novalogic?
Q. In the past I used to be able to play (and host) "Multiplayer" sessions on the Novalogic server. Haven't been able to do that for a while. I have "Delta Force 2 Demo" on my desktop. Then finally went to the Novalogic site and found an update for Delta Force 2. I downloaded the update (I'm not sure now if it was the update for DF2 or DF2 "Demo"). After downloading, I went back to play the game and after clicking on the desktop icon, I get an error message that reads: "The application or DLL (insert here the thread) is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette." It seems the download disabled my ability to play the game. I think I have a backup disk from my other computer, but not the ACTUAL game disk.… [cont.]

Q. buy Novalogic. I can't make it run on modern versions of Windows. Does anyone know of the same - or better flight simulator that is as good as the one? I have Window's Flight simulator also, but it's too loaded with technical stuff to be fun. I like it, by the F22 was more fun!

A. It is usually just your account that gets blocked, but many games developers are starting to block your IP address. You can use a proxy if you have to.. depending on your type of internet provider/connection, you can actually request/change your IP address.

Q. I play a lot of high end games novalogic joint ops and company of heros and have noticed my latest compqany of heros freezing up a lot lately. I have a g-force nvidia 6600 256 mgb graphics card and am playing on an athalon 3000+ processor my computer is 3 years old what can I do to stop these issues? i have 1 gig of ram i can go to 2 gig would this solve the problem?

A. Upgrade your RAM to at least 1 gig, 2 gig if you can afford it. This should speed up your gaming. Plus, make sure your fan is doing its job, and make sure that your CPU is cool, otherwise you will run slower. Also remember to plug your computer into an outlet, this will make it run faster.

A. This stuff is highly illegal, though torrentportal.com, demonoid.com and piratebay.com are all good torrent websites. If you have a XBox360, I suggest downloading trial games such as Phantasy Star Universe, which you can play online, I saw Halo and stuff. Good luck! ;)

Sony Vegas lighting text effect?
Q. I am trying to make a title with a light going in the BACK of the text and simulate a foggy atmosphere so it like glows in it kind of. Watch this, it's what I'm looking for. (Right at the beginning when it shows novalogic presents. thats what i want) Can someone help me out? I really want to add that effect. A. go to media generated and add a simple text with no background or with black background. then go to effects tab of the text(attention i don't mean FX tab) and active draw outline and pick wait color and define the other options to make the best output. you can also add glow effect from FX box to any simple text to make it a little shiny.
